MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Detectives are asking the public for any information they may have about the disappearance of a Sam Houston State University student.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Thomas "TJ" Murray, 24, was last seen at Rookies Sports Bar on Sawdust Road shortly after midnight on Oct. 19. He spoke with his father at 12:30 a.m. that morning to say he would not be driving home.

Murray's father said his son got separated from his friend and was outside the bar, but could not get back inside.

"There was some issue. He wasn't allowed back in the bar. We're trying to figure that out," Thomas Murray, Sr. said.

No one has heard from Murray Jr. since. Murray's cell phone was found in a ditch near the sports bar and his pickup truck was left in the parking lot. Investigators said they suspect foul play.

Murray Jr. is 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with white lettering and shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. It is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case.
