HOUSTON – Frightening moments for a female pharmacy representative after two men robbed her at gunpoint in a southwest Houston parking lot.
She was unloading supplies from her white van when police say the pair ambushed her and stole her products. It happened outside Pharmacy Plus on the feeder road of the Southwest Freeway near Hillcroft.
"She just came in and said she got robbed in the parking lot," said pharmacist Chimezie Iloanya.
She tells Local 2 that employees and customers worry about being robbed because pills such as highly addictive painkillers can fetch big money on the street.
"It's scary. This parking lot where we park our cars so it's kind of scary," Iloanya said.
Investigators believe the rep who was robbed may have been followed because she made one other stop prior to her arrival at the southwest Houston pharmacy. Police are telling drug reps the same thing they tell independent jewelers who've been robbed -- to be extra vigilant.
An office worker who did not want to be identified says the warnings are being taken seriously.
"Two, three times somebody got assaulted. So that's what's been happening the past couple of weeks," the worker said.
Police say the two armed robbers fled the scene in a Nissan.
