HOUSTON – A Cy-Fair ISD spokesperson said a student and a staff member got into an altercation in a common area of Langham Creek High School on Monday morning.
Students told Local 2 that it happened before classes started at the high school in northwest Harris County. School district officials did not call it a fight, but confirmed an employee was hurt.
The school district official says the staff member was taken to the hospital for observation for what were considered minor injuries. Students told Local 2 they were not sure of what started the fight.
The school district would not say how or why the altercation started.
Some students said everyone else talked about it at school. One student, who said he witnessed a fight, said another student jumped in and tried to protect the school district employee.
Cy Fair ISD said any charges in the case would be filed through the Harris County District Attorney's office.
The district said the student is expected to be disciplined according to the student code of conduct.
