HOUSTON – Chevron is expanding its strong presence in southeast Texas.
The California-based company recently purchased nearly 100 acres off the Grand Parkway and Clay Road in the Katy area.
A company representative said the land is for future "research and development facilities."
Chevron also plans to eventually build a 50-story office tower in downtown Houston.
The company has not yet released details on employment decisions.
