HOUSTON – The city of Houston will be honoring a member of the KPRC Local 2 Family Tuesday by honoring her with her own day. An event celebrating "Mary Benton Day" will be held at City Hall.
For 20 years, Benton covered some of the biggest stories and gained the respect of many lawmakers and viewers. She ended her career at KPRC on Friday and now works for Harris County in media relations and public affairs.
The event is open to the public and begins at 1:30 p.m.
