HOUSTON – Neighbors weren't able to save a man's life, after they discovered him lying outside of his southwest Houston apartment early Monday morning.
The man was shot to death at the Clearwood Villas Apartments in the 9400 block of Clarewood at Corporate Drive.
Residents said they heard two gunshots just after midnight. That's when witnesses found the victim lying next to his front door.
One man said he immediately began to perform chest compressions on the victim, while trying to keep everyone calm.
"His wife was screaming and hollering. I told them, we just have to turn him over and apply pressure to the wound and start CPR," said Arian Brown, who lives near the victim.

Houston police say Taylor arrived home, then returned to his vehicle to retrieve something. While walking back to his apartment, police say he was shot multiple times.
Witnesses told police they didn't know who fired the gunshots, but that several people were walking around the apartment complex at the time of the shooting.
