HOUSTON – There was concern Friday after a potential threat was made against Huffman High School. The district investigated the threat and do not feel any students were in danger, but did notify students and parents.
Huffman ISD released the following statement:
"This week we discovered a vague threat written in a social studies textbook about an event that would supposedly happen at the high school on Friday. After thoroughly investigating the threat, neither the district nor our law enforcement partners consider it to be credible. However, out of an abundance of caution we have notified parents, and the following measures will be taken for the remainder of the week:
- There will be an increased police presence on campus as needed.
- Harris County Sheriff's Department K-9s will be sweeping the building, campus, and parking lot.
- District staff will be monitoring the campus for anything that seems out of place.
