HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County Constable Precinct 4 is deploying 30 units on the streets over the course of the next two days to target crooks and people disobeying traffic laws.
The goal of the saturation is to be visible in the community, said Lt. Stanley Jolly. Deputies are patrolling parking lots and other areas where crooks may try to prey on holiday shoppers.
Constable Precinct 4 covers the northernmost portions of the county.
In the first hour, deputies arrested a man who they said they believed was driving drunk. He had been arrested for the same offense multiple times before, Jolly said.
Local 2 rode along as Jolly stopped a driver who didn't use a turn signal. The driver received a warning.
During the same operation conducted a year ago 300 traffic stops were made, Jolly said.
The operation will continue Wednesday.
