FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – LifeFlight was called to the scene after a student was stabbed at Clear Brook High School Thursday afternoon, according to officials.
The stabbing happened shortly before 2 p.m. at the school in the 4600 block of FM 2351 in Friendswood. Officials said there was an altercation in a classroom at the end of a science class when a student pulled out a pocket knife.
Police said a 9th grade student was stabbed in the leg, abdomen and neck. He was taken by LifeFlight to Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital.
"It was crazy," said student Wafeeq Haq. "A stabbing so close to you, you don't know what to expect from the students now."
There is no word on the condition of the victim, but Friendswood police said he was alert and his injuries were not life-threatening.
The 10th grade male student was taken into custody immediately.
The district said school was dismissed on time and after-school activities continue as usual.
