2 brothers charged in deadly road rage shooting in Pasadena

PASADENA, Texas – Two brothers are facing capital murder charges in the case of what police are calling a road rage shooting in Pasadena.

Police said man and his wife were having a disagreement Monday night when she got out of their vehicle on the side of the road. Investigators tell KPRC 2 News a man who was in a car in front of them thought something was wrong and tried to intervene. The two men got into an argument.

Police said the man then followed the husband and wife back to their home in the 1700 block of Johnson Street, where the two men got into a fist fight.

The man left, picked up his brother and returned to the couple's home. Investigators said they knocked down the door, then shot and killed 29-year-old Thomas Brock. We're told he was shot in the chest.

"He was a fighter, but this time he didn't want to fight. He didn't and just wanted to do the right thing and enjoy himself for the night and this guy just went ballistic," said the victim's wife, Julie Brock.

She told KPRC 2 News that there was no argument between her and her husband before the shooting. She said she is not sure why all of this happened. She said maybe the driver in front of them thought they were too close.

"They came and killed a man that was a wonderful husband, and wonderful father and a wonderful brother. And son and son-in-law. He worked for so many people. He was the hardest worker you'd ever find. Ever," said Julie Brock.

Neighbors said the victim ran across the street for help and collapsed on a front porch.

"We heard a knock. Really strong. Almost trying to throw out the door. Like really hard," said neighbor Antonio Baltizar.

He said he called 911.

At the same time, Michael Martin said he was driving down the street and saw two men walk out of the house with a gun. He followed them and led police to them.

"It was crazy! They had shot something. I heard gunshots. I know people that live in this house," said Martin.

Steven Rodriguez, 24, and Jacob Rodriguez, 29, were arrested and charged with capital murder. Pasadena police told KPRC 2 News that Jacob Rodriguez is the suspected shooter.
