HOUSTON – A 41-year-old man was shot to death inside a home on Markwood Lane in southwest Houston early Monday morning.
Police said the victim, Michael Guy, was visiting a friend inside the home when he was killed. Investigators said the gunman stormed inside and opened fire.
"He is a good guy, and he's a loving person. Anything that he had, he would give," said Guy's niece. "I honestly don't know why somebody would do something like this."
Investigators are trying to figure out why the victim was there and what exactly was going on inside the home.
"It does not appear to be abandoned. There is property and furniture, but there is no electricity," HPD investigator Robert Lujan said.
Police said there were three people inside the home at the time of the shooting, and they are being interviewed about what they saw. KPRC 2 was told they are not being cooperative.
Meanwhile, family members said the victim was a father of two. He had a 17-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son.
There is no description of the suspect and possible getaway vehicle.
