HOUSTON – The husband of a 29-year-old Katy woman who disappeared while they were snorkeling issued a statement Thursday saying he believes his wife is dead.
Amanda and Allen Waller were swimming back to Curacao's popular Cas Abao beach on June 25 when she went missing.
After a week of searching and praying, the victim's husband posted an update on the gofundme website that read: "Thank you everyone for all the love and support during this tragic event. It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that based on the conditions of my wife disappearance it is concluded that she passed away on June 25, 2015. Her memory and love still lives within heart of the many lives she touch."
The local Coast Guard spent three days searching for the victim and Allen Waller flew back to Houston Wednesday night.
KPRC 2 reached out to Allen Waller several times for comment but he said he does not want to talk about it at this time.
The gofundme website that was dedicated to the search effort raised more than $13,000. The money will be donated to the dive shop in Curacao that provided 50 divers who searched for the missing woman.
