HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating the death of a Pasadena man who was killed while on the job at KLAD Manufacturing on the Fourth of July.
Wesley Keene, 55, was found shot and killed in the parking lot.
The Houston Police Department said Keene had been contracted by the company to work as a security guard while the business was closed during the holiday weekend.
He was found dead by a friend who went to check on him after receiving an inaudible voice message.
On Monday, KPRC 2 News spoke with Keene's mother, who answered the door to his home, but she refused to speak on camera as she said the family waits for an autopsy.
At this time, HPD claims there is no known motive or suspects in the killing.
Neighbor Damaris Garza said it's a nice family who lies in the home, with two men living there with their mother.
Other residents on the street shared Garza's shock of the violence.
"You can't even go to work and be safe now. It's getting crazy around here," Steven Rios said. "Like I say, you can't even go to work, you're in fear of your life."
Anyone with information in the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
