HOUSTON – Huggies is responding after coming under fire for reported glass shards in its baby wipes.
A viral video showed a mother opening a new package of Huggies wipes and what could appear to be shimmering shard in the wipes.
In a video posted by a Houston father, he said the wipes he bought "looked like they had some sort of fiberglass material."
Many concerned parents posted their complaints to Huggies' company Facebook page.
The company released a statement about the issue, saying in part:
"Some of you have commented about the shiny particles seen in our wipes. While this condition is not normal, it does happen infrequently during the manufacturing process. When combined, the fibers in our wipes have on occasion created shiny particles."
Huggies is also asking parents to visit its website or call the company if they have questions about the issue.
