FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Oyster Creek Elementary School was temporarily placed on lockdown Thursday after an unidentified man entered the building and didn't sign in, Fort Bend ISD says.
The district said the lockdown on the campus at 16425 Mellow Oaks Lane in Sugar Land was issued as a precaution.

The man was not located, and the lockdown was lifted at 1:15 p.m.
A letter went to parents that read, As a follow-up message to our earlier communication, our school went on lockdown around 11:45 a.m. as a precaution after receiving a report a man entered the building and did not sign in. As a precaution, the FBISD Police and Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office searched our school building thoroughly and made sure all of our students and staff were safe and accounted for. At approximately 1:15 p.m., the school resumed normal operations after police officers secured the building.
Please know that your students were kept safe during this incident, and we appreciate how our staff and students handled the situation. This is a good reminder to everyone about the importance of signing in at the front desk of the school any time you enter the building. Please know that we take any report seriously and take all precautions to ensure a safe learning environment.
