Restaurant Report Card: Slime found in ice machine, roaches spotted

It was a slimy start to the week at Jo Jo's Asian Bistro at 23940 Eastex Freeway in Humble. Inspectors found slime in the ice machine and 250 pounds of ice had to be thrown out.

Inspectors found dead cockroaches inside the soap dispenser at Steakountry at 1010 Antoine Drive.

Denny’s at 12862 Northwest Freeway also had an insect problem. Inspectors found a live roach crawling on the food prep line.

Brick House Tavern and Tap at 12910 Northwest Freeway had to throw away 174 pounds of food because it was not safe to eat.

Black mildew was the problem at Suzhi Teahouse at 11209 Bellaire Boulevard.

And inspectors found  more roaches at La Finca Mexican Restaurant at 11660 Westheimer Road.

But there’s good news to report this week: Inspectors gave perfect grades to Potbelly Sandwich and Chipotle Mexican Grill, both on Westheimer near Dunvale.
