Website lists 2016 best public schools in Houston metro

Ke'Tara Wells/StaffK12.niche.com has ranked its top 100 public schools in the Houston metro area for 2016.

The list was composed according to state test scores, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores and college readiness, along with insight from student and parent reviews.

Carnegie Vanguard High School tops the high school list at No. 1. Carnegie Vanguard High School has 608 students in grades 9-12, with a 99 percent proficiency in math and reading. The school focuses primarily on administration & policies regarding both staff and students, with low ratings of misbehavior conduct and unfair treatment.
