HOUSTON – SWAT officers have taken a man high on drugs into custody, ending a standoff in southeast Houston.
Houston police were dispatched to a home in the 140000 block of Walksew Street and Broadhurst around 2:20 a.m. Monday for a family disturbance.
When officers arrived, a man was uncooperative with police. Police deployed a taser, shocking the man, but he pulled the prongs off and ran back inside the home and barricaded himself inside a bedroom. Police said he was high on PCP. Police said the man could be heard loading a gun.

A father and son inside the home managed to escape safely.
SWAT was called to the scene and negotiators tried to get the man to come out,but he would not surrender.
SWAT forced entry shortly after 5 a.m. and took the man into custody.
