BAYTOWN, Texas – Police have made an arrest after and an 18-year-old was killed and his twin brother was hospitalized after a shooting at a Baytown park.
Police said the pair got into an altercation around 9 p.m. with two men who were trying to rob them Wednesday at the League of Women Voter's Park on Columbia at River Bend Drive.
At some point during the fight, Gullermo Tommy Mena, 17, pulled a gun and shot Luis Huerta to death. Luis' twin brother, Juan, was shot multiple times in a struggle with the gunman before the shooter ran into a nearby neighborhood.
Police said Juan is in stable condition and was able to give the names of the pair who tried to rob and shoot him.
Investigators said a weapon was found at the scene.
Police arrested Mena just before 3 a.m. Thursday after Juan identified him in a lineup. He later confessed to shooting the Huerta brothers. Another man is still on the run.
