“Today’s digital world is all about efficiency and easy connectivity, and our mobile app is designed to make life a little more convenient for our customers. It also gives us a great opportunity to engage customers in a new, different way in an effort to provide the best service possible,” said Rob Rodriguez, the chain's senior vice president of Restaurants.

The app provides customers one free food item for every five visits to a Whataburger restaurant.

“Most importantly, the Whataburger app allows us to show some love to our loyal fans with our new rewards program, and we think our customers will especially crave the chance to earn free food,” Rodriguez said.

The rewards include one of Whataburger’s favorite breakfast item such as a free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit or a taquito with cheese and your choice of filling. Breakfast hours are from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m.

Don’t worry if you’ve missed their free breakfast item. Whataburger also provides its regular menu items, such as a medium order of french fries, a cinnamon Roll or a 16-ounce shake with your choice of flavor.

Users of the app can earn their rewards points by paying traditionally with cash or card. The app also allow users to pay and order through the app for a faster check out, which will be available in late 2017. This new payment form will work like a gift card account that you can load and reload from $15 to $200.

Whataburger customers can download the app for free from Apple’s app store or Google Play to receive rewards for each visit.
