FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – It is not the trip that a mother in Ft. Bend County expected when she went to the Walmart on Highway 6 and University in Missouri City.
She told KPRC 2, "He totally got me out on surprise."
She said a man drove up to her car as if he was parking next to her about 6:30 p.m. May 31. She said he opened her passenger door and grabbed her purse before she could even lock her doors.
"He pulled me over the console pulling at my purse. When he realized I wasn't letting go, he then punched me straight in the face," she said.
She said she started yelling as loud as she could. She told police the man then punched her in the face and grabbed her Louis Vuitton purse with her wallet, makeup bag, iPhone and credit cards before taking off in a dark green Jeep Renegade.
She said she started honking her horn and screaming for help. She described the thieves as three young men in their late teens or early 20s.
She said they went across the street and tried to use her stolen credit cards. She took to social media to warn others.
"There are three kids...18 to 20 years old...going on a rampage attacking women like me," she said.
Walmart released the following statement:
“We take our customer’s security seriously and intend to provide the safest shopping experience possible. It’s disappointing to hear that this customer was robbed in our parking lot, and we’ll continue helping law enforcement as they look for the person responsible. All other questions must be referred to local police.”
