HOUSTON – One of JJ Watt's oldest fans is being remembered after she died last week.
Asalee Poole, known by her nickname Mimi, was a staple in Texas City.

The 100-year-old was a huge fan of JJ Watt.
If you remember, she wanted to meet the football superstar on her 99th birthday.
Mimi's family put together a video of the then-99-year-old making a plea to meet her favorite player, Watt.
The video went viral and we even did a show on our newscast and about it.
JJ Watt got wind of the video and, with his generous spirit, granted Mimi's wish.
You can watch our Facebook Live video of the meeting here.

Poole's family posted a message on Facebook last week that read:
"The world lost an amazing, compassionate, selfless, loving, kind, and generous lady today, but Heaven gained an Angel. Beautiful inside and out. I'm thankful to all who have prayed for Mimi. My wish was to get to Texas City before this happened, so I could give her 1 last hug and kiss. This was not part of God's plan. Luke and I were able to tell her we loved her on speaker phone last night, and I could hear her say "I love you".
I miss you, Mimi and you will always be in my heart. 100 years of blessing others. Everyone who knew her loved her."
Funeral arrangements have not been released.
Rest in peace, Mimi.
