HOUSTON – We have been tracking the progress of a house raising in Meyerland.
The 4,200-square-foot home on Cadman Court was lifted nearly six feet in the air. It took about 12 hours to lift the home.
Hydraulic jacks lifted the home about eight inches an hour, turning a five-time flooded home into a treehouse.
With the help of time lapse, the whole process can be reduced to about 30 seconds.
While the lift took only hours, the project was in the works for more than two years and was only days from lift when Harvey hit.
Depending on the size and weight of a house, workers said the cost can be between $100,000 and $300,000.
Completion of the Cadman Court lift will take about 45 days.
The homeowner is relieved that the project finally happened.
