3 arrested in 'worst case' of child pornography San Jacinto sheriff has seen

COLDSPRING, Texas – Two additional arrests were made in a child pornography case that the San Jacinto County Sheriff's office has been following for almost a month.

Investigators made their first arrest back in February when they charged James Tumlinson with sexually assaulting a child.

Now, two more men face charges in this case. Those men have been identified as 28-year-old Cody Franklin, who is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and 47-year-old Patrick Tumlinson, who has been charged with failure to report aggravated sexual assault of a child.

It’s a case that has shaken the top brass at the Sheriff of San Jacinto County's Sheriff's office

“This is the worst case I have ever seen in my 37 years as a law enforcement officer,” said Sheriff Greg Capers.

A search of a trailer along the 900 block of Joyce Street in Shepherd, investigators said, led them to the discovery of two memory sticks. Authorities say they found more than 3,100 lurid videos - some with unspeakable content involving children 5 to 12 years old.

“There was some torture in the videos that we have,” said Sheriff Capers.

The sheriff says the seven young victims are all local and they tell similar stories.

James Tumlinson has been charged with 3,191 counts of possession of child pornography, along with charges of promotion of child pornography and sexual abuse of a child.

The FBI will be meeting with the sheriff’s office Monday to aid in the investigation of this case.

Authorities believe there could be up to 20 more victims in the area.

“We are requesting the assistance of the public and anyone that knows any of the three suspects,” said Sheriff Capers.  “If they would come forward, if they are victims of sexual assault in this case.”

If anyone has information on this case you are asked to call the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office at 936-653-4367
