Person from Mexico wins more than $1 million through Texas Lottery

PHARR, Texas – Sometimes, it’s not always a Texan who wins the Texas Lottery.

Someone from Mexico won more than $1 million on a winning Texas Two Step ticket purchased at an HEB store in South Texas.

The drawing for the ticket happened on May 13 and the winning ticket was purchased in Pharr, Texas, a city near the Mexican border in the Rio Grande Valley. The ticket was worth $1.325 million.

The winner chose to remain anonymous.

According to the Texas Lottery Commission, the winning Quick Pick ticket matched all four of the white ball numbers drawn (4-13-14-17) and the red Bonus Ball (24).

It’s not the first time in recent months that someone from out-of-state has won the Texas Lottery. On June 18. the Texas Lottery Commission sent out a news release about a winning ticket worth $3 million that was purchased by someone from New Mexico. That ticket was purchased in the West Texas city of Seminole.
