A cluster of afternoon thunderstorms are dropping heavy rain and lightning across parts of the Houston area Friday.
As of 4:30 p.m., a cluster of storms was located on Houston’s west side. Heavy rain is currently falling in the area of the intersection of Beltway 8 and the Katy Freeway. Rain could cause some slow traffic in areas where it is falling.
