Houston police are investigating a violent attack inside an ambulance early Tuesday morning.
According to Houston firefighters, a patient became violent en route to the hospital.

One firefighter was sitting in the back while another drove the ambulance, District Chief C. Chavez said.
The driver heard the patient get agitated before attacking the firefighter, Chavez said.
Firefighters were forced to pull over and call police.
According to Chavez, one firefighter suffered injuries consistent with a broken bone.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Houston police were able to subdue the patient and arrest him.
Chavez said investigators are looking into whether the patient was intoxicated.
