(KVEO) – Former Tejano superstar Joe Lopez of Grupo Mazz has been released from a Texas prison.
Lopez was released from the Huntsville unit around 9:30 Thursday morning.
He had been in prison since Nov. 20, 2006, after he was convicted of sexually assaulting his niece.
The former lead singer for Grupo Mazz was sentenced to 32 years in prison, but only served 10.
In 2017, Lopez was granted parole.
"Oh I feel great man. Starting to feel better now," Lopez said.
