HOUSTON – Harris County commissioners voted Tuesday to rename Horsepen Creek Park to Deputy Darren Goforth Park.
The park is located on Horsepen Creek at 9118 Wheat Cross near West Road, about two miles from the gas station where Goforth was killed.
The park has hiking and bike trails, a lakeside dog park and a playground.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office sent out a tweet thanking commissioners on the decision.
