HOUSTON – The city of Houston Solid Waste Management Department will suspend some services in an effort to focus on public health issues confronting the city in the wake of Hurricane Harvey's aftermath.

Disaster debris from Hurricane Harvey will be collected on a seven-day schedule until all material has been collected. Residents are asked to place their debris at the curb as soon as possible.

Officials ask that debris piles be accessible by the collection crews, so residents are asked not to park on the street blocking piles. Debris needs to be clear of tree branches, fire hydrants and utility lines.

Construction and demolition debris: Building materials, carpet, drywall, furniture, lumber, mattresses and plumbing.

Monday, Sept. 4: No garbage collection in observance of Labor Day.

Tuesday, Sept. 5: Garbage will be collected.

Wednesday, Sept. 6: Garbage will be collected.
