STAFFORD, Texas – A man is dead after he was found shot on the side of the road near a gas station in Stafford Tuesday, Fort Bend County deputies said.
According to investigators, the 22-year-old man, identified as Camerron Long, was found around 2:24 a.m. on the side of the road at 812 FM/1092.
Detectives said after further investigation, they learned that Long was involved in a shootout and was hit multiple times. Surveillance video from the On The Go corner store showed two parties meeting outside the convenience store and opening fire, according to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Long was rushed to Sugar Land Methodist, where he later died.
Officials are still working to learn more details surrounding the shooting. Deputies said the shooting is the first homicide of the year in Fort Bend County.
