HOUSTON – Sugar Land is considered one of the most pet-friendly places in the country, according to a report by Rent.com. The Houston-area suburb was ranked No. 13, which ranked cities based on the availability of pet-friendly properties, vet cost and pet businesses per capita.
The report found that all apartments in Sugar Land were pet friendly and calculated vet cost at $51.55. It also noted that there were about 7 pet businesses per 10,000 people.

According to rent.com, the best cities for pets provide pet-friendly apartments with plenty of amenities, such as off-leash parks, hiking spots, veterinary hospitals and doggie daycares.
