A deputy was shot and injured Thursday in northeast Magnolia, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the deputies responded to calls of a man who fired shots at his neighbor just before 8 p.m. Thursday near Magnolia Hills Drive and Allyson Drive.

When deputies arrived, they said the suspect opened fire on them. One deputy was hit by pellets in the arm, leg and head, but he is expected to make a full recovery, officials said.
As for the suspected shooter, the sheriff’s office said he is not in jail following an hours-long standoff.
