Houston mayor, officials discuss efforts to be safe in area’s hot weather

HOUSTON – Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Reliant, and Harris County Precinct 2 held a news conference Thursday to mark the official launch of Reliant’s 2021 Beat the Heat Program.

The Beat the Heat program aims to help Houston-area residents stay cool and manage their electricity use during the hot summer months ahead. Commissioner Adrian Garcia, Harris County Precinct 2, Deborah Moore, deputy director of the Houston Health Department and Bill Clayton, Vice President of Customer Care and Retention, Reliant will also attend the event, according to a news release.
