HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A mother and son have been arrested after investigators say they shoplifted from three stores, stole an elderly woman’s purse and assaulted a constable deputy.
On Tuesday, deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to a 7 Eleven gas station in the 7700 block of Fairbanks N Houston after receiving reports of shoplifters stealing beer.

Deputies arrived quickly and attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver allegedly refused to comply with commands, resisted arrest, assaulted the deputy and fled the scene, leading authorities on a pursuit.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the 7200 block of the North Sam Houston Parkway.
The two suspects were arrested and identified by Pct. 4 as 54-year-old Sharon Martin and her 26-year-old son, Paul Osborne.
Martin was charged with felony theft and possession of identifying information. Her bond was set at $2,500. According to court documents, Martin has 16 previous convictions of theft in Harris County.
Osborne was charged with felony evading in a motor vehicle and aggravated assault. His bond has not been set as of Wednesday morning.
