HOUSTON – A terrifying video shows several suspects breaking down a door of an apartment while posing as Houston police officers in an attempted home invasion in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The incident was reported on March 18 around midnight at an apartment located in the 8200 block of West Bellfort.

Police said, as the resident was asleep inside his apartment, he heard a loud bang coming from his front door and realized someone was trying to kick his front door open, so he grabbed his handgun.
Video shows the male suspects armed with weapons and kicking the door open before storming inside the apartment.
Police said the victim heard the suspects saying “HPD” as they entered his apartment with guns. The man said he did not think they were police officers, believing they were really robbers, so he fired several rounds toward them. The suspects then returned fire, missing the victim. The bullets went through the walls and into several other surrounding apartments. The suspects then took off.
No injuries were reported during the shootout.
Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477, where they may pay up to $5,000 for information that will lead to an arrest.
