Auto shop owner shot, killed by alleged ex-brother-in-law in NW Harris County (KPRC)

HARRIS COUNTY – A man who owns a used car dealership in northwest Harris County was shot and killed by his ex-brother-in-law after an argument took place, according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies.

According to HCSO Sgt. Beall, deputies responded to the shooting in the 7800 block of Fallbrook Drive at around 2 a.m.

Deputies said the owner, his ex-brother-in-law, and an employee were reportedly drinking outside the building.

At some point, Sgt. Beall said an argument ensued between the auto shop owner and the ex-brother-in-law.

Moments later, the ex-brother-in-law pulled out a gun and fired at the employee, according to Beall but somehow was able to hide. That was when another gunshot was heard.

The employee came out of hiding and found that the ex-brother-in-law fled the scene and the owner dead with an apparent gunshot wound, deputies said.

As deputies arrived to investigate, the brother-in-law returned to the scene and turned himself in, Sgt. Beall said. He was later taken to HCSO Homicide Unit for questioning.

Deputies are investigating the motive for the shooting.
