Sprite is retiring its iconic green plastic bottle after more than 60 years, company says
Sprite will now be produced in clear plastic bottles starting Aug. 1 in an effort to “support a circular economy for plastic packaging,” The Coca-Cola Co. said.
Sprite is ditching its iconic green plastic bottle in favor of more sustainable clear bottles, its parent company, The Coca-Cola Co., announced Wednesday.
It’s a major change for the bubbly lemon-lime drink that debuted in the United States back in 1961 and became a staple in households and grocery stores with its eye-catching green packaging.
