TOMBALL, Texas – An officer involved in a rollover crash in Tomball Thursday has been transported to the hospital via Life Flight, the Houston Police Department said.
The crash happened on FM 2920 and Buescher Road around 7:27 a.m.
According to investigators, the officer was driving to an academy to teach a class when he had some sort of medical emergency. The officer hit a ditch, veered off the road and flipped, HPD said. A witness reportedly called 911.
Police said the officer was Life Flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition.
According to HPD, the officer has been with the department for about 14 years.
UPDATE: We are relieved our officer seriously injured in this morning's one-vehicle crash is now in stable condition. The officer, a 14-year veteran, suffered a possible medical episode.
