Antonio Cardenas, DDS, a pediatric dentist with UTHealth Houston and UT Dentists, shared the importance of yearly dental visits and maintaining a healthy smile.
Cardenas offered these recommendations:
- Children three and under should see a dentist every three months to ensure baby teeth are coming in properly.
- Once all baby teeth are in, kids should visit a dentist twice yearly.
- Cavities are a big concern for children. Cavities are completely avoidable. To avoid cavities, brush and floss regularly, avoid sugar in excess and visit a dentist regularly.
