HOUSTON – KPRC 2 has been following Taylor Pomaski’s case since her disappearance in April 2021.
Pomaski’s ex-boyfriend, Kevin Ware Jr., was taken into custody a few months after the woman’s disappearance in connection to drugs and weapons.
On Tuesday, Ware made his first court appearance since officially being charged with Pomaski’s murder, in addition to other charges.
The judge denied Ware’s bond on the murder charge for 60 days, and a $50,000 bond was issued for the felon in possession of a firearm charge and a $500,000 bond was issued for the tampering with a corpse charge.
Court papers revealed new disturbing details about how Pomaski was killed. The documents say the former NFL player cut the woman with a knife, hit her with a blunt object and then strangled her and burned her corpse.
Pomaski was first reported missing in April 2021. She was last seen at a party at her home. Her remains were found in December. In April of 2022, those remains were positively identified. Kevin Ware Jr. has been in custody almost this entire time, in connection with a drugs and weapons case. He was indicted for Pomaski’s murder this past summer.
