HOUSTON – A second teen suspect has been charged in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old Lamar High School student in west Houston in May, officers with the Houston Police Department said.
Abdon Enriquez, 17, was charged with capital murder in the death of Axel Turcios. Another suspect, who was identified as Ramiro Hernandez, 17, was previously arrested and charged with capital murder in July.

According to investigators, Turcios was in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 9545 Ella Lee Lane when he was approached by the suspects. Officers said one or both of the suspects fired shots and struck Turcios. Police believe the suspects then took an item(s) from him.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a dark Chrysler PT Cruiser and traveled northbound on Tanglewilde Street, HPD said.
Paramedics transported Turcios to a hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead the following day.
On May 19, detectives and the victim’s family members attended a news conference at HPD headquarters to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects. Following the news conference, detectives said they received information that led to the suspects’ identities.
Officers said an investigation resulted in the arrest of Hernandez on Wednesday, July 7, and an additional investigation helped authorities identify Enriquez as a second suspect in the shooting.
Enriquez was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 22 and charged for his role in the shooting, HPD said.
