Man’s decomposed body found wrapped in blankets inside closet at SE Houston apartment complex, HPD says

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after the body of a man was found decomposed, wrapped inside blankets at a southeast Houston apartment complex on Monday afternoon, authorities say.

According to the Houston Police Department, the discovery was found at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Redford Street at about 4:50 p.m.

Investigators say employees at the apartment complex called 911 after they noticed a foul odor and insects near the door of the unit.

Upon arrival, police say they found the man’s body, which had begun decomposing, wrapped inside blankets in a closet.

Officials say an autopsy is underway to determine the victim’s identity and the cause of death.

At this time, police have not released any information on a suspect.
