In recent weeks, KPRC 2 News has reported on domestic-related violence and the horrific consequences nearly every day in our newscasts and on Click2Houston.

The on-air reports and articles are anecdotal evidence that we have a problem, Houston. Now a new study reveals the ugly truth about domestic violence in our area.
Intimate partner homicides have doubled between 2019 and 2022 and the community’s ability to respond to the violence is overwhelmed, according to a new study by the University of Houston’s Institute for Research on Women, Gender & Sexuality.
“BREAKING FREE” SERIES WEEKDAY SCHEDULE
Now in a new initiative called “Breaking Free,” KPRC 2 News is highlighting the problems, sharing the resources and people who are making a difference every day, and some of the unique solutions to our epidemic of violence.
Starting Sunday, Feb. 12, KPRC 2 News will have stories touching on a number of domestic violence issues. We will have daily reports for the entire week on KPRC 2 News, KPRC2+, and right here on Click2Houston.
Some of you reading this may be scared or feel helpless, but whatever your circumstance, we want you to know you’re not alone.
