WEBB COUNTY, Texas – A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged after Texas DPS troopers say he led them on a chase and smuggled six illegal immigrants into the United States.
The teen has since been charged with evading arrest and human smuggling.

DPS Lt. Chris Olivarez said the 16-year-old from Laredo ran several red lights and drove through a construction zone while trying to evade troopers in Webb County.
The teen eventually crashed into a canal where he jumped out of the vehicle and attempted to run away before he was caught and arrested,
Troopers said six illegal immigrants, including an infant, were found inside the vehicle and transported to US Border Patrol.
