HOUSTON – First responders, fellow firefighters and the community are mourning the tragic loss of firefighter and EMT Nahit Oral, who died in the line of duty on Thursday.
The department said Oral suffered a medical emergency following a training event.

“Firefighter Oral began his service with the Community Volunteer Fire Department on March 2, 2020, and was assigned to Fire Station 93. He was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award for Fire Academy Class 2020-Alpha,” the department said in a released statement.
His body was transported from the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office to a funeral home where firefighters will remain by his side until he is flown back to his home country of Turkey.
Oral leaves behind his wife, Marie, and Brother, Ozan. Final arrangements are pending.
An image in a tribute to Oral posted on the department’s Facebook said, “Loved beyond words. Missed beyond measure.”
