2 American Bullies stolen after owner held at gunpoint by suspects he met on Facebook Marketplace

HOUSTON – A surveillance video was released of two suspects tied to an aggravated robbery on Aug. 23 at a convenience store parking lot in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The aggravated robbery was reported around 11:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Almeda Road.

Police said the victim was selling two of his American Bully breed dogs through Facebook Marketplace and was contacted by a potential buyer named “Deion.”

The seller agreed to meet “Deion” at the store. He said the suspect arrived in a black Hyundai Elantra sedan, along with a second male suspect.

As “Deion” agreed to purchase the dogs, he reportedly gave the seller 14 $100 bills as payment. When the seller noticed that the money was fake, he confronted the “Deion” about it.

Police said one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and forced the victim to place the two dogs into the backseat of their Hyundai Elantra. The suspects then fled the scene.

According to HPD, prior to the incident, the suspects stopped at a convenience store (captured on video) at the 3300 block of Yellowstone.

On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, the complainant was selling his two American Bully Breed dogs through Facebook Marketplace and was contacted by a potential buyer named ‘Deion.’ The complainant stated that he agreed to meet ‘Deion’ at a convenience store parking lot at around 11:30 pm at the 5800 block of Almeda, in Houston, Texas. The complainant stated that the potential buyer showed up in a black Hyundai Elantra sedan along with a second unknown male. The complainant stated that ‘Deion’ agreed to purchase the dogs and gave him fourteen (14) $100 bills as the payment. The complainant stated that he realized that the bills were fake and confronted the males about it. One of the males then pulled out a handgun and forced the complainant to place the two dogs into the backseat of their vehicle, described as a 2013 to 2018 Hyundai Elantra. The suspects then got into their vehicle and fled the location.
