John Moore Services, Houston’s largest complete home service provider, kicks off its second annual field trip experience for students across Houston.
John Moore Services designed the John Moore Services Field Trip Experience in 2022 to provide teachers and schools an opportunity for their students to experience the trades and potentially inspire a career in a rewarding, stable industry.
In the 2022 to 2023 academic school year, John Moore Services hosted 500 students from Spring Branch ISD, Houston ISD, Lamar CISD and Klein ISD. This year, John Moore Services expects to nearly double its impact, welcoming about 1,000 students throughout the academic school year to its corporate headquarters for a day full of fun learning.
“It is a great feeling to see kids excited to learn about the industry,” said Don Valentine, CEO and owner of John Moore Services. “Our technicians do a great job of educating and sharing the importance of the trades, leaving each child with a newfound knowledge about the industry. We are honored to continue offering this free, memorable learning experience to students this 2023 - 2024 school year.”
As part of the field trip, second through fifth graders will visit six interactive stations where they learn about electricity, HVAC, water filtration and circulation, plumbing and sewers. Each activity station is hand-crafted and conducted by skilled technicians, and the passion for their careers is visible in each learning activity. Students will become honorary John Moore technicians and receive a personalized badge with their name and photo.
“This STEM-focused field trip was one-of-a-kind, and John Moore Services helped students understand the different job opportunities they can have when they get older,” said Jenna Bunyan, fifth grade math and science teacher at Ridgecrest Elementary School in Spring Branch ISD as she reflected on her school’s field trip last year. “We all had a great time! All students were engaged in the stations and had a lot of fun.”
