The couple, identified as 24-year-old Arazeli Ruiz and 31-year-old Fernando Fernandez, suffered from apparent gunshot wounds, deputies said. Two children, ages 2 and 5, were also found inside the home but were uninjured.
Detectives with the Homicide and Violent Crimes Division, along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene to investigate.
Investigators learned that a family friend arrived at the home to pick up the man for work and noticed that the front door of the home was open. He then went to a neighbor’s house to call 911.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families as they grieve and continue to work with our Victim Services division,” Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
The circumstances and motive around this shooting are still under investigation. At this time, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and only involves the couple.
