HOUSTON – After a round of storms Saturday, the cold front has moved through and southeast Texas has had a blustery and cool day Sunday.

Thanks to the reduction in wind speed and lack of cloud cover, the stage is set for temperatures to be on the cold side Sunday night into Monday morning

In fact, a few areas of southeast Texas may even drop to the freezing mark Monday morning.

Now most of the area will not make it to that 32 degree mark, but a few areas, especially to the north of Houston could drop to that level.

Right now, the KPRC 2 Storm Tracker Team predicts a low of 37 degrees for Houston itself. Most of the area will be in the mid-30s. A few areas, like Livingston, Liberty, and Columbus could fall to the freezing mark Monday morning.

Even if the temperature where you are doesn’t fall to the 32 degree mark, many areas will feel colder than that. Wind chills for many areas will be near or even below the freezing mark. Areas to the north and west of Houston will feel especially cold. You can thank the fact that there is very little to no cloud cover to act as a sort of blanket to help keep temperatures from falling. Winds will also be very light, five miles per hour or less across most of the area.
